WSI Corp., the Andover, Mass.-based weather service vendor says that its InFlight system is now compatible with Chelton's FlightLogic EFIS displays.
Certification of Chelton's FlightLogic EFIS and a software update (5.0B) is scheduled for December 2004. Current Chelton FlightLogic EFIS customers will be able to add the WSI InFlight functionality as an option, and will require the purchase and installation of the WSI InFlight system at that time. MSRP for the dual-screen, non-certified Chelton Sport system is $24,900. Associated WSI InFlight hardware is available separately from WSI dealers as a non-certified system for $3,495.
Meanwhile, Chelton's new EFIS-SV Sport and Pro systems are shipped complete with the WSI InFlight interface and are available through Chelton's experimental market distributor Direct-To Avionics, which is also offering the WSI InFlight functionality as a free software upgrade to existing Chelton EFIS-SV Sport and Pro systems for experimental aircraft.
WSI (Booth 2436) says that more than 1,000 aircraft are now equipped with its InFlight continuously updated weather system. InFlight has been installed on all sizes of airframes and can utilize a multitude of displays (MFDs, EFBs, tablet computers and PocketPCs).
