FlightSafety International (FSI) is lining up a variety of business and regional aircraft simulators ranging from the Beechcraft King Air turboprop to a Gulfstream IV for its new 14-bay center in Farnborough, England. Simulator installation is to begin in January, and FlightSafety hopes to secure Joint Aviation Authorities approval by the end of the first quarter. Initial simulators planned for the center will provide training for King Air 200, Citation CJ2, Citation Bravo, Gulfstream IV and Hawker 800XP pilots. FSI also is installing Beech 1900D and Saab 340 regional turboprop simulators that will be certified within six months of the center's opening. FSI added that more aircraft simulators will follow.
In addition to the simulators, the center will include classrooms equipped with MatriX simulation-based interactive training systems, SimVu interactive pilot debriefing rooms, study areas and customer amenities that include an exercise facility. Located next to the new TAG Aviation terminal/office building at Farnborough, the center is FSI's second center in Europethe other is at Paris-Le Bourget Airport. FSI is at Booths 4016 and 4112 here.
