Dallas Airmotive to Perform PW300 & PW500 Overhauls
Dallas Airmotive Inc. is preparing to begin repair and overhaul
operations on the PW300 and PW500 turbofans in 2005. DAI was appointed
as a designated overhaul facility (DOF) for North America by Pratt
& Whitney Canada (P&WC) for the two turbofans in July. DAI
will perform work on the engines at its Forest Park facility in
Dallas. Hot section inspections, overhauls and field service on
the PW300 will be performed in first quarter 2005, and on the PW500
in the second quarter. DAI is already a DOF for PT6A, PT6T, JT15D,
PW100 and PW901 APUs.
As part of its appointment, DAI is authorized to support engines
enrolled in the ESP hourly engine maintenance service program. This
is the first time an independent repair and overhaul facility has
received this authorization. With the awarding of its DOF status,
DAI is now authorized by the OEM to service more than 86% of the
turbine engine models used in the worldwide business fleet. Visit

"Airtight" PT6As and JT15Ds
Dallas Airmotive announced on Oct. 12 that more than 1,600
PT6A and JT15D North American-based corporate engines have
been enrolled in DAI's exclusive Airtight Warranty program
since its introduction in 1996. If DAI overhauls a PT6A or
JT15D and the operator selects the Airtight Warranty option,
DAI warrants 100% of the parts and labor, including accessories,
for the manufacturer's recommended TBO or 10 years, whichever
comes first. "We've kept this program user-friendly," said
Dallas Airmotive's Ralph Alberto, vp of sales, marketing and
service. "If your engine is overhauled by Dallas Airmotive
and you're enrolled in Airtight, we're going to stand behind
our "inlet-to-exhaust" coverage. No other independent provides
this comprehensive coverage."
