Eurocopter Mexico has signed the first order for the new EC 145 in the Americas to Aeropersonnal, a corporate operator in Mexico. "The EC 145 was selected for its excellent performance in hot-and-high conditions, as well as its versatility and advanced technology," said Aeropersonnal CEO Gustoavo Anaya. "The helicopter's easy maintenance concept and its environmental friendliness made the difference."
Powered by two Turbomeca Ariel 1E2 engines, the EC 145 accommodates up to ten persons, including pilot. It comes equipped with a Thales digital glass cockpit and crashworthy seats. Operating at low noise levels (average 6.7dB below ICAO regulations), the EC 145 is said to be the quietest helicopter in its class.
In other Eurocopter news, America Eurocopter of Grand Prairie, Texas, announced the delivery of a new EC 155 to Thomas Enterprises. This is the first Eurocopter the real estate development company has added to its growing fleet. "We started looking at other aircraft, but we felt the EC 155 could perform our immediate missions like showing property to tenants and performing charitable work, was well as carrying out some of the longer trips we were contemplating," said owner Stan Thomas. "This helicopter as all the 'bells and whistles' and features a wide, roomy cabin that can accommodate up to 12 passengers and two pilots. The EC 155 came standard with everything; it's a very nice helicopter and we're very happy with it," he added.
