Raytheon to Unveil 1900 Corporate Shuttle

Raytheon Aircraft Company (Booth 9839) will be out in force at the NBAA Convention with a full line of business aircraft, including a 14-passenger Beech 1900D corporate shuttle.

Since the early 1980s, 696 Beech 1900C and D models have been built for regional airlines worldwide. But airline interest in the cramped C models began to wane in the late 1980s, so the manufacturer began producing the stand-up cabin 1900D from 1991, turning out 439 of them. So far, 35 out-of-production Beech 1900C and D twin-turboprops have been reconfigured as corporate shuttles, according to Dave Carter, marketing manager of Raytheon Airline Aviation Services.

"We think this aircraft will have some interest to the business aviation community," Carter told ShowNews.

As for the its bizjet line, Raytheon will have the new 10-seat super-midsize Hawker Horizon at McCarran International Airport (LAS), where the fourth airplane, RC-4, and the first to be completed in final production configuration, will be available for private showings. The Horizon is still on track for certification by the end of 2004, according to Raytheon Aircraft's manager of media relations, Tim Travis.

Among the 100 or so business aircraft on static display at Henderson Executive Airport will be the Hawker 400XP and 800XP, as well as Beechcraft Baron, Bonanza, King Airs C90B, 200 and 350 and the Premier I light jet.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the ubiquitous King Air. To commemorate the anniversary, the 6,000th King Air, a Model 350 that is the 400th of that type off the line, will be delivered to a customer during the convention.
