Goodrich Corp. (Hall 4, Stand F8) was recently selected by BAE to provide the ice detection system for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft. The system, which advises pilots when icing conditions are present, will be used on the conventional, carrier Short Take-Off Vertical Landing (SVTOL) versions of the aircraft. Goodrich has already won other JSF contracts, including an anti-icing system for the Rolls-Royce lift-fan system, landing systems and weapons bay doors, fuel quantity gauging components and associated wiring harnesses.
