Bell 407 Goes Climbing in Himalayas

A Bell 407 flown by Eric Emblin, the company's senior experimental test pilot, landed on a Himalayan peak on July 1 at an altitude of 22,180 ft. Weeks of testing, including flights to explore low-speed controllability, occurred before the high-altitude demonstration flight. This was the first time a Bell 407 has been in Nepal, despite its reputation for fine high-altitude performance, according to Bell officials.
