Smiths Inks 7E7 Gear Actuation Contracts
Smiths Aerospace has been selected by Boeing to supply the landing gear and high-lift actuation systems for the new 7E7 Dreamliner, with total contract values exceeding $1.6 billion. Smiths will also supply the 7E7's common core system and enhanced flight recorder, with prospective returns to Smiths approaching $3 billion over the aircraft's lifetime. 7E7 systems deliveries are due to start in late 2006, for service entry scheduled for 2008.
