A Small Piece in a Small Bomb

HR Textron (Hall 3, Stand A9) is going to be a key supplier for one of the Pentagon's largest munitions programs as a subcontractor to Boeing on the Small-Diameter Bomb project. The 250-pounds class GPS-guided munition is being designed so stealth aircraft can carry more bombs in their internal weapons bays. Production is estimated at 24,000, although experts believe more will be built. HR Textron will build the Tail Actuation System as part of the $151 million Small-Diameter Bomb development effort. The company also supplies components to Boeing for the Joint Direct Attack Munition.
