UAVs Collecting Combat Credentials

War made the Predator unmanned aircraft a household name, but the extent to which combat has been key to General Atomics Aeronautical Sytstems' family of unmanned aircraft is startling nonetheless. The stable, that includes the Predator and its B-version, the Gnat series, Altus, and Prowler II have now amassed more than 100,000 flight hours, about 67% of which were flown in anger. Although the UAVs have been around for over a decade, the last three years have been particularly hectic, with 70% flown since September 2001. General Atomics is at Hall 3, Stand C14.
