Switzerland's RUAG Aerospace (Hall 1, Stand A18) has been elevated to 2003 Supplier of the Year status by Boeing—from a pool of 10,900 suppliers who work with Boeing. Just 13 awards are handed out each year, and RUAG was the only European firm to be so honored this time. Trophies are awarded for outstanding performance and customer satisfaction, adjudged on a statistical analysis of quality, on time delivery, post-delivery support and cost. RUAG currently contributes to the F/A-18 Hornet and 717 airliner programs.
