The first-ever installation of a head-up display (HUD) on a Westland-build helicopter has logged an initial 10 hours of time on a Super Lynx 300 during day and night use, including operations in which the pilots used night vision goggles. The HeliHawk HUD, made by CMC Electronics, is a complete navigation and weapon delivery system when combined with operational flight programs and an open architecture mission computer. The HUD is based on CMC's SparrowHawk HUD flying on the U.S. Navy F-14B and a variety of fixed-wing military trainers.
