Elisra Focus Its EW at the UK Market
Elisra Group (Hall 1, Stand E1) is offering its SPS-65 ECM suite for the Royal Navy Defensive Aids Suite acquisition program. Nathan Katran, vp marketing at Elisra, is confident that the system perfectly matches the British requirements for future Defensive Aid Systems for Battlefield Light Utility Helicopter (BLUH) upgrades for the Lynx, mid-life upgrades for EH-101 SAR helicopters and the future acquisition of the Shipborne Amphibious Battlefield Rotorcraft (SABR) program. The systems that Elisra presents in the UK focus on the company's proven SPS-65V and AES-210E ESM platforms, in addition to SAR solutions, which are already operational and proven on 20 types of helicopter platforms worldwide. The newly enhanced versions include many features that have become common in modern maritime helicopters, such as integrated ESM/ECM, SAR capability and more. The suite includes a jammer that can be employed against a variety of air defense systems. Types of threats covered include radar guided, laser rangefinders, target designators and beam riders. Flare/Chaff Dispensing and DIRCM systems can also be integrated. Advance missile warning is based on infrared imagery and signal processing to detect and track a missile's hot plume as it appears within the landscape background surrounding the helicopter. When a threatening missile is detected, the system provides a warning signal and automatically activates countermeasures. It provides threat information to other EW systems and cues DIRCM as part of an EW suite. Elisra's newest AES-210 version is operational in Australia, while the latest generation of self-protection systems is operational with the IAF AH-64A and D versions of the Apach, and the latest version of IAF's F-16the Block 52 plus F-16I Sufa.
