CAE to Provide Training for EASy Cockpit Falcons
CAE is providing simulators and a comprehensive training program for all new Dassault Falcon Jet models to be equipped with a new cockpit, including the Falcon 7X, 900EX EASy and 2000EX EASy aircraft.
The Canadian company has an exclusive agreement with Dassault to build two full-flight simulators for the 7X with Simfinity technology, a personal computer-based software training package that includes desktop products, 3-D trainers and simulation-based courses.
In addition, CAE will develop two Falcon 900EX EASy/Falcon 2000EX EASy convertible full-flight simulators and related training, including Simfinity.
John Rosanvallon, president and CEO of Dassault Falcon Jet, said CAE won out in the selection process with the most competitive business and technical package.
The EASy cockpit developed by Dassault uses Honeywell Primus Epic technology. It provides a wide variety of computer generated images to pilots on four 14-in. diagonal displays. The system improves crew situational awareness in a number of ways.
So far the EASy cockpit has been certified on the Falcon 2000EX EASy and on the Falcon 900EX EASy.
In other news, CAE plans to open its first civil aviation training center in the London area with low-cost carrier easyJet. CAE will train easyJet pilots on the Airbus A320 family of aircraft for a minimum of seven years. The new center will open in autumn 2006 to serve both airline and corporate operators. In addition to two A320 full flight simulators, the center will house one Dassault 7X full flight simulator and one convertible Dassault 900EX EASy/2000EX EASy simulator.
