Blended Winglets for All Nippon 737s, Offered on 767s
Aviation Partners Boeing is looking for a launch customer to retrofit its blended winglets to the Boeing 767-300ER. The unique curved winglets reduce fuel burn and noise, and the company - a joint venture between Aviation ~partners and Boeing - sees an addressable market of 400 aircraft. Meanwhile, All Nippon Airways has ordered 45 winglet kits for its Boeing 737-700s, with deliveries starting in October 2005, becoming he first Japanse customer for the modification. More than 500 737s have been fitted with winglets, and Aviation Partners holds orders and options for 1,100 more. Continental has launched the modification for the 757, with service entry in mid-2005.
