Yves Galland to Head Boeing France

Boeing France, Boeing's new beachhead on Airbus's home island, will be run by Yves Galland, an attorney and seasoned business and public affairs professional who headed Europ Assistance, according to Phil Condit, Boeing chairman and CEO. Galland will set up shop in Paris, smack in the middle of the Ile de France. "France is a strong aerospace market," Condit said. He wants to take what he perceives is a good relationship with French and other European customers and suppliers and move it up to a "new level." Galland will help Boeing "better understand the business environment in France," according to Condit.

And how. Galland is dialed into the inner circles of French politics, having been a VP of the European Parliament. He's also been president of Parti Radical, a councilor of Paris and one of the mayor's top advisors.
