The Carlyle Group, new co-owner of Italian engine manufacturer
FiatAvio, is a secretive global private equity firm with more
than $15.8 billion under management. Its associates number many
world leaders including former U.S. President George Bush and
former British Prime Minister John Major.
Carlyle claims to generate extraordinary returns for its investors
by employing a conservative, proven, and disciplined approach.
It invests in buyouts, real estate, high yield, venture capital,
