FiatAvio Gets Certifications for Added Engine Maintenance

FiatAvio Maintenance Repair & Overhaul has been granted certification from various civil aviation authorities to maintain CFM56-3 and CFM56-7 powering Boeing 737s. The Italian company already held approvals for the JT8D-200, PW100 family, and CF56-5B. For the new engine certifications, FiatAvio has been aggressively pursuing business in China, other countries in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Late last year, FiatAvio signed two multi-year contracts covering about 60 CFM56-3s engines used by Italian airlines Blue Panorama and Air One Airlines. Italian airlines make up about 60% of the company's business volume.
