Franco-U.S. Spat Only Makes Turbomeca Try Harder

"Non." With the economy of language for which General de Gaulle was renowned in another context, Turbomeca Chairman and CEO Emeric d'Arcimoles told Show News what were his concerns over recent attempts by Bell Helicopter to persuade U.S. lawmakers to bar foreign firms from Government rotary wing contracts. d'Arcimoles is convinced that customers' pragmatism will ensure uninterrupted turbine engine business for Turbomeca in the U.S.-even to the extent of listing among the company's targets a break into the military market there. In the civil field, too, North America features prominently, with Turbomeca even having the savoir-faire to nominate Bell (now under new management) as a prime target for increased collaboration.
