Eaton's 5,000 psi Vickers hydraulic pumps, already aboard the
V-22 Osprey, F/A-18 Hornet, F/A-22 Raptor and F-35 JSF, also have
been chosen by Airbus for use on the A380 superjumbo, marking
the first time such high pressure pumps have been used aboard
a commercial jetliner. These lightweight units have a dual pressure
function that enable them to operate at 3,000 psi until the full
5,000 psi is needed to operate certain hydraulic systems.
