Air Logistics Takes on Turbomeca Power

Air Logistics, one of the largest helicopter operators in the U.S., has taken delivery of its first S-76C+ aircraft, making it the first Turbomeca-powered S-76 in its fleet. The S-76C+ is powered by the Turbomeca Arriel 2S1 turboshaft, an engine that provides 18% more power than the Arriel 1 and offers the performance of the S-76B with the payload/range capability of the S-76A++. Air Logistics will take delivery of 15 S-76C+s up to 2006, and it holds options on another 15. The first S-76C+ was handed over in mid-May. Air Logistics has a fleet of nearly 200 helicopters, tasked largely with offshore support task for the oil and gas industry around the Gulf of Mexico the Alaska.
