Airbus has selected Rockwell Collins as the standard supplier
of communication and navigation equipment for the new A380 large-capacity
airliner, continuing a long relationship between the two companies.
Rockwell Collins equipment aboard the new aircraft will include
VHF-900 and HF-900 radios, capable of carrying both voice and
data, and a multi-mode receiver (MMR) which provides the aircraft's
primary position, velocity and time reference and replaces separate
ILS and GPS landing system receivers. Rounding out the suite is
the VOR-900, DME-900 and ADF-900
