Controp Demonstrates Virtual Fence, Optical Payloads, for Security Applications
First-hand experience in the war against terrorism and years
of field-proven operational experience make the Israeli EO specialist
Controp Precision Technologies' Paris show debut significant.
Here at Le Bourget the company is demonstrating three representative
systems. Its Cedar automatic panoramic scanner works like an imaging
radar to automatically detect motion in a wide panoramic view,
in real time. The operation includes a scan mode that employs
the FLIR in a continuous scanning search for targets over specific
sectors. The FLIR is capable of detecting man-sized targets at
ranges of several kilometers. In identification mode the same
FLIR sensor can continuously zoom in on the target to facilitate
immediate investigation and identification. Cedar is a member
of a family of unique automatic intruder detection systems that
creates a 'virtual fence' around the protected perimeter, offering
automatic, passive detection for security and battlefield applications.
