Singapore Airlines Chooses Rockwell-Collins' Airshow for A340-500

Long-range Airbus A340-500 airliners to be operated by Singapore Airlines will be equipped with Rockwell Collins Airshow, the popular moving map and cabin display system. Singapore chose Airshow 420, a system that provides a real-time map of aircraft position and route of flight in proximity to landmarks and nearby points of interest, plus time, estimated time of arrival and air data. The moving map-function includes three-dimensional terrain depictions, close-up views of cities and several optional terrain resolution levels. It also functions as a display for audio-visual safety briefings and movies. With all this entertainment on board "Mommy, how much longer before we get there?" might not be the most frequent question asked aboard transoceanic flights. But, it still won't answer, "Mommy, how soon do we eat?"
