IAI Offer Digital Avionics Package For Transport Aircraft
IAI/LAHAV is offering comprehensive, yet low-cost avionics upgrading
for transport aircraft. Despite the recent cancellation of a C-130
upgrading in Turkey, the company is pursuing additional projects,
in cooperation with local partners. One such program is a planned
improvement for the Lockheed Martin/Alenia C-27 aircraft, to be
pursued with Alenia. Modernization of Antonov An-32s operated
worldwide, primarily in the Indian market, where there are large
numbers of locally built aircraft presents, considerable business
opportunities.
In its avionics integration package, LAHAV utilizes off-the-shelf
avionics to create a glass cockpit featuring four or six large
MFDs that show flight status, integrated navigation/weather displays,
navigational aids, TCAS and tactical displays. IAI has developed
a sophisticated map presentation package that shows maps, terrain,
3D images and digital photo maps in various formats, superimposed
with information layers showing obstacles, threats, friendly and
enemy forces. The moving-map display can use any standard cockpit
display but can also be utilized with PDA or digital kneepad displays.
