Ruggedized Personal Digital Assistant (RPDA) Passes Combat Tests

With quantity sales to the U.S. Armed Forces, Tadiran's RPDA is becoming an essential element of the modern warfighter's equipment. RPDA was designed by Tadiran Communications, and is in production at its Tallahassee, Florida subsidiary Talla-Com Inc.

RPDA is designed to operate reliably in extreme conditions, by aircrew, or mounted or dismounted troops. For airborne applications, it provides pilots with flight data and preflight checklists, while also enabling communications with automatic test equipment systems for preflight inspection testing.

The small PDA provides a large effective display area for presentation of maps, situational awareness and UAV imagery etc. As an essential component of network-centric applications, RPDA can integrate into all levels of command, utilizing its integral, secure and immune communications capabilities. It is also equipped with a GPS receiver and Bluetooth wireless communications capability for rapid connectivity to nearby devices such as video cameras, servers and printers.
