Honeywell Lands easyJet Brake Service Contract

Peg Billson, VP of Honeywell's aircraft landing systems, just inked a $17 million deal with easyJet to overhaul wheels and brakes on the low-cost carrier's 46 Boeing 737-300 Classic jetliners. The work will be performed at Honeywell's Feltham, UK facility that can repair both steel brakes, such as those used on the B737. and carbon brakes.

The announcement virtually stopped Bob Johnson, president of Honeywell Aerospace, in his tracks. Billson is a rising star on Johnson's "rich bench of talent," as he describes Honeywell's key players. While other Honeywell Aerospace divisions have struggled to make profit targets, Billson's aircraft landing systems has soared with 17 % growth in spite of a contracting market, prompting Johnson to salute her achievements as "wonderful."
