Landing gear specialist Messier-Dowty has pulled out all the stops at their Hall 2B, Stand E11 display. Dominating the display is the monolithic, 5.5-meter-tall Airbus A380 nose-gear, for which the company is responsible for design, development, manufacture, test and support. Pared with the main gear unveiled at last years Farnborough Air Show, it becomes apparent how truly massive the A380 will be. Its landing gear will be the largest ever supplied by Messier-Dowty.

Showing the research and technology aspect its work, the company showing in a titanium main gear fitting for the Airbus A340, highlighting work done on weight reduction and new coatings that comply with present and future environmental safeguards. The landing gear incorporates a shortening mechanism and articulating bogie to meet Airbus' weight and installation requirements.
