Aeronautics Defense Systems is showing a new version of the
Aerosky tactical UAV, equipped with a dual sensor based on a standard
optical payload and Rafael's Top-Scan ESM payload. Aerosky has
been operating with the Israel Defense Forces since March 2002
on 'pay by the hour' basis, supporting security and counter terror
operations over the Gaza Strip and West Bank. On these missions
two UAVs performed over 6,000 flight hours, at an average mission
rate of 20 hours per day, with mission durations of 12 hours each
each. Aerosky operates with various payload including the dual-mode
IAI/Tamam POP, and Controp ESP-600 CCDTV and Controp DSP-1 FLIR/TV
payloads. Other UAV activities at Aeronautics include development
of Morpheus, a medium altitude long endurance (MALE) UAV, and
the Protector, a small unmanned surface patrol vessel. Protector
is being jointly developed with Rafael.
