A day after its debut at NBAA, the Gulfstream G450 has snagged its first customer.
Northrop Grumman Corporation announced Tuesday that it has selected
Grumman Aerospace as airframe provider in its bid to develop the
Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) next-generation intelligence, surveillance
and reconnaissance system, with the G450 as the ACS RC-20 airborne
platform.
"Gulfstream's U.S.-manufactured jets have proven themselves
repeatedly in meeting the demanding requirements of special electronic
mission aircraft, cruising at higher altitudes and remaining on
station longer than any comparable aircraft," commented William
R. Adams, vp Airborne Surveillance Systems at Northrop Grumman's
Electronic Systems division.
