Damos Aviation Services and Aero Innovation are teaming up to help
airlines and training schools with pilot selection tasks. At a new
center at the Montreal International Airport, the companies provide
a computerized test of situational awareness and cognitive abilities
using a Frasca flight training device with an automated scoring
module. Applicants are rated based on common performance measures
such as pitch and airspeed control in addition to IFR skills like
VOR-tracking, intercepting radials and procedure turns. A second
pilot selection center in Los Angeles is set to open in January
2004.
