Dallas Airmotive Inc comes to this year's NBAA with broadened
horizons in the MRO business after a series of expansion projects
in the second half of the year. In April, the company acquired
Neosho, MO-based Premier Turbines from Midcoast Aviation, and
in September opened a regional turbine center (RTC) in Boynton
Beach, FL, complementing other RTCs across the United States and
in England.
The Premier Turbines acquisition in particular will open new doors
for the company. Premier Turbines is authorized by Honeywell to
provide heavy maintenance service for the TFE731-series engine,
one of the most widely used fanjet engines in the business aviation
fleet. Worldwide, more than 10,000 TFE731s have been shipped for
use in more than 30 aircraft applications. Dallas Airmotive spokesman
Patrick DeBlanc says Premier's heavy maintenance capabilities
will complement and combine with Dallas Airmotive's existing Honeywell-approved
TFE731 major service centers in Dallas and Minneapolis to provide
operators with one of the industry's most extensive support networks
for the TFE731.
The acquisitions are expanding the reach of the 1,600-employee
Grapevine, TX-based MRO primarily in the engine maintenance, new
parts distribution, and accessory maintenance and repair services.
Dallas Airmotive specializes in Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A,
JT15D, PT6T and PW100; Rolls-Royce Spey, Tay, Dart, and Model
250; Honeywell TFE731, 36 Series APU, ALF502, CFE738, General
Electric CF34, and Hamilton Sundstrand APS 500 APUs. The company
also is an authorized overhaul and repair service center for the
Saab 340A/B landing gear.
Dallas Airmotive's engine services include overhaul and repair,
parts restoration, performance testing, failure analysis and repair
development, in addition to STC modifications, engine performance
and reliability management, worldwide field service and training
seminars. The company operates Honeywell-authorized TFE731 Major
Service Centers in Dallas, West Palm Beach, and at Minneapolis
International Airport. Core Zone Inspections and heavy maintenance
on the TFE731 are performed at the Neosho facility.
