New Test Tools from Smiths Aerospace

New test tools from Smiths Aerospace include a system that checks Boeing 737 or BBJ flight management computers that have been removed by line personnel but do not have any detectable faults. The "go/no-go" tester, developed by Smiths in partnership with Ideal Aerosmith, allows airlines to test, recertify and re-install the computer without using a costly full-size automatic test equipment set. Smiths is also offering the Navigation Database Inspection Tool (NDBIT), a software package that automatically checks the integrity of navigation data-charts, frequencies and radio aids-used in flight management systems.
