PrivatAir GmbH Gets Tick in European Regulatory Box with JAR 145 Approval

Swiss-headquartered PrivatAir's German affiliate has just gained JAR 145 maintenance approval for its Dusseldorf base, allowing it to offer line maintenance services to third parties. Certification will be the springboard to expansion of services with the establishment of maintenance stations at Hamburg (Germany) and Filton (UK) for Airbus A319/A320/A321 corporate airliners-employing either IAE V2500 or CFM56 turbofans. The locations are based on PrivatAir's current personnel shuttle operations for Airbus Industrie, using A319s between Airbus manufacturing centers in France (Toulouse), Germany and the UK. Additionally, the company serves Newark and Chicago under contract to Lufthansa, flying a 48-seat BBJ. PrivatAir is also a major operator in the United States, with a fleet of over 50 aircraft, ranging from King Air to Boeing 757.
