NetJets Inc has selected Honeywell to provide data-link services and OneLink
satellite communication services for its fleet of business aircraft
in the NetJets fractional aircraft ownership program.
The contracts are worth an estimated $20 million over five years,
according to Honeywell.
"Honeywell's Global Data Center [GDC] will provide the NetJets
fleet with air-to-ground data link communications that keep the
flight crew in contact with NetJets' dispatch. This service allows
dispatchers to electronically monitor the movements of over 400
NetJets aircraft worldwide," said Scott Hamilton, NetJets'
director of flight support services. "The GDC will also deliver
pre-departure and oceanic clearances, flight plans and weather briefings
directly to the flight deck for the NetJets fleet."
In addition, Honeywell's OneLink voice and data communications
will work in conjunction with the GDC, aiming to more easily pinpoint
NetJets aircraft positions for more efficient and reliable calling.
