Global Jet Shares Brings "Affordable" Gulfstreams to Fractionals

Startup fractional operator Global Jet Shares (GJS) hopes to redefine the fractional ownership market when it launches its new pre-owned Gulfstream jet plan here at NBAA. The Van Nuys-based company says its fleet will give customers "the prestige and performance of a luxury Gulfstream at just a fraction of the price." GJS expects to sell 1/8 fractional shares in each aircraft for approximately $1.25 million.

Global Jet Shares affirms that it is the only fractional company to be marketing previously owned Gulfstream jets today. Using the Air Carrier Certificate and Wyvern certificate of its affiliate Pacific Jet Inc., GJS intends to operate under the strict requirements of FAA Part 135 regulations (unlike may other fractional operators). The company has a fleet of Gulfstream IIIs that have undergone a series of comprehensive cabin and cockpit upgrades. With these aircraft the company can offer a 12-14-seat cabin and a 3,600 nmi range (NBAA/IFR rules) at a cruising altitude of over 41,000 feet. The Rolls-Royce Spey-engined jets are all equipped with Stage III hushkits.

Inside each Gulfstream III is a stand-up cabin with full galley, oven and microwave service, full catering facilities, a wet bar and a cabin attendant. Fine china and crystal are used throughout, along with the best in bedding and linens. Business customers can be assured of satellite communications connectivity for their phones, fax and computers. The aircraft are fitted with the Airshow 400 passenger map system and also come fitted with a DVD and CD player, plus a Sony PlayStation games system.
