Atlantic Aviation has signed a letter of intent to acquire two
FBOs in New Orleans. The FBOs are located at Louis Armstrong International
Airport (MSY) and Lakefront Airport (NEW) and are presently owned
by General Aviation Corp. General Aviation's president Pat Dugan
will remain with Atlantic Aviation on a consulting basis.
The acquisition will bring Atlantic's total to 10 locations, including
Bridgeport, Hartford, Long Island, Teterboro, Midway, Houston
and two Philadelphia sites. "Acquiring these two locations
will allow us significant presence in the growing New Orleans
market and to provide customers there with a choice," said
Atlantic president Lou Pepper. "Plus it will expand our network
to a destination city that complements our existing locations."
Pepper said that Atlantic is planning extensive renovations to
the hangar and terminal buildings at Lakefront Airport. A $3 million
terminal building was completed at MSY some time ago.
