Interior refurbishments, a new FBO, RVSM installations, onboard
King Air workstations for the government and a spate of aircraft
sales are among the items keeping Banyan Air Service busy these
days.
Banyan is working with Tucson-headquartered DeCrane Cabin Interiors
on a joint-venture project to be based in south Florida, with
DeCrane onsite at Banyan headquarters in Fort Lauderdale. Banyan
quotes the projects and handles inspections. Interiors have been
completed on four aircraft: a Gulfstream IV, Citation II and two
King Airs.
Banyan has also installed 10 onboard workstations for a government
agency, and performed extensive cockpit upgrades using Honeywell
hardware in a dozen other King Airs for the same client.
Banyan has scheduled a trio of RVSM installations in a Citation
500, a 550, and a 560. "We'll be using the Shadin Solution's
hardware and software and the IS&S and Honeywell products,"
says Banyan avionics manager Mike Culbreth. Previous Banyan RVSM
jobs have involved a Learjet and a Beechjet 400A, he noted.
Banyan's sales unit has recently sold half a dozen aircraft, including
King Air 200s and a 90. Eight more Pipers, Citations and a Beechcraft
Baron are available.
Banyan's building a 25,000-square-foot FBO terminal on the south
side of Fort Lauderdale Executive too. A larger ramp will let
Banyan handle Gulfstreams and even the BBJ, says FBO customer
service chief Jim Torrey. Groundbreaking is slated for early next
year. Banyan's at Booth 1959 here.
