Aircraft Braking Systems for New G450

Akron-based Aircraft Braking Systems Corp (Booth 1001) will supply main wheels, carbon brakes and nose wheels, as well as digital antiskid and brake temperature monitoring hardware, for Gulfstream's new G450. ABSC's all-new 18-inch main wheels and brakes "are designed to accommodate the more demanding landing and braking requirements of the G450," the supplier says. "The three-rotor brake configuration, which features ABSC's proven 6000-series carbon composite heatsink material, is designed for 2,000 landings per overhaul without an intermediate maintenance procedure." New thermocouple brake temperature sensors are derived from units developed for the regional aircraft sector, "and will provide an order of magnitude increase" in reliability, ABSC says.
