Honeywell N1 DEEC Upgrade

Honeywell's Digital Engine Electronic Control (N1 DEEC) upgrade is now available for Hawker 125-1A/3A/400 TFE731-3 powered aircraft, and the IAI Westwind and Astra. Honeywell says the N1 DEEC reduces pilot workload, improves engine temperature limiting, eliminates the need for electronic control trimming and provides electronic trend monitoring and PC-based troubleshooting capability. "It is available for 23 aircraft models and we continue to make this improvement available to all of our TFE731 engine operators," says Barry Eccleston, vp and general manager, Propulsion Systems Enterprise. The company has also begun flight-testing on the N1 DEEC for the Learjet 55, JetStar and Sabre 65 with STC expected late this year. Honeywell is producing retrofit and upgrade options for every engine it manufactures, says Eccleston.
