More Power to the Pilot

Helicopter operators, in particular, will be drawn by the GPL 9000 mobile starter unit displayed on Booth 3665 by Global Power Logistics. Operating from an independent power source, the 9000 can be used at any time in any terrain producing, between its own recharges, as many as four start-ups that can have an aircraft's engines running in as little as 30 seconds.

The unit's light weight means it can also be carried by small airplanes which regularly operate into locations with little or no ground support equipment, obviating the fear that a costly "rescue" mission will have to be mounted if the aircraft has to be re-powered. The GPL 9000 is already used by the Bundesgrenschutz (German border guard) and RSV, the Italian military aircraft trials unit.
