Nordam Group Consolidates as Tulsa Division Expands
Known for its manufacture and overhaul of engine components, nacelles
and thrust reversers, the Nordam Group has announced plans to
expand its Tulsa-based Repair Division with the full consolidation
of its Texas facility.
Repair Division will now perform all services currently provided
by the company's regional aircraft component repair and overhaul
facility at Fort Worth, Texas. Additional capabilities from this
consolidation include radome repair, interior refurbishment, composite
repair, and electrical component repair and testing.
A notable new product line in the consolidation is the WeatherMASTER
radome, which was developed and manufactured by Nordam Texas.
This is used by regional airlines, military aircraft and business
jets, having become a preferred replacement product for extended
service life. Raytheon Aircraft Company recently selected Nordam
to manufacture radomes for its Beech and Hawker business aircraft.
Tulsa is the home of Nordam, which has other plants at Wichita,
Singapore and in the United Kingdom. Since it was founded in 1969,
the company has developed a diverse customer base that includes
airlines, major transport, regional and corporate aircraft, U.S.
and foreign military services, and aircraft maintenance facilities.
Nordam's Repair Division president, Dick Clark, maintains that
with the recent growth of the regional airline industry "the
timing is right to combine the strengths of both facilities. Customers
will benefit from the increased focus and support that Nordam's
much larger Tulsa-based repair Division offers. This consolidation
is in the true spirit of lean manufacturing, which the Nordam
Group strives to achieve."
In a related development, Brett Benton has been named vp of WAA
Asia, part of the Nordam Group's international marketing and sales
division, World Aviation Associates. WAA has offices in Singapore,
Amsterdam, Sydney, London, Hamburg, Lima, New Delhi and Toulouse.
