Lufthansa Technik AERO

Lufthansa Technik's Aircraft Engine Repair and Overhaul (AERO) group is ramping up its capacity to work on General Electric CF-34 series engines, fueled by the growth of the regional and corporate jet market. The turbofans power the CRJ 100/200/700/900 as well as the Challenger 601/604/800. The airline-owned MRO boosted output at its Alzey, Germany, location after adding 2,000 square meters to the integrated product line and opened a new facility in Tulsa, Okla., primarily to service U.S. customers. At Tulsa, the CF-34 work is done by LHT partner, BizJet, and includes critical maintenance activities such as hot-section inspections. LHT says "should the need arise," BizJet's relationship with LHT could be broadened to included overhauls as well.
