EMS Technologies Adds Features, Performance to HSD-128
EMS Technologies, the leading supplier of satellite-based data
communications equipment for business jet cabins and special mission
aircraft, is working to add features and performance to its best
selling HSD-128 terminal while boosting sales, particularly in
the commercial market.
The company announced here on Tuesday that it is cutting the price
of the HSD-128 by $50,000 between now and the end of the year.
The $135,000 special price is good for any systems sold into the
business aviation market.
The company has also introduced the HSD-X, an expander module
that adds another channel to the two-channel HSD-128. Two expander
modules can be added to each HSD-128, for a maximum of four channels
which can be combined into a single 256 Kbps throughput, making
it possible to access virtual private networks from an aircraft.
Another new EMS Technologies product is the AMT-3800, a low-profile
fuselage-mount Inmarsat Aero-H antenna designed for midsize corporate
aircraft and helicopters. It is due to be available in December
2004.
