Thunder Aviation Teams With Honeywell on Falcon RVSM

Following anticipated certification in December, operators of Dassault Falcon 10 and Falcon 20 business jets will be able to obtain RVSM upgrades based on Honeywell components. Thunder Aviation, at Chesterfield, Missouri, has teamed with Honeywell to develop the modification, announced its vp Sales and Marketing, Lou Churchville, on the eve of the show. "The Thunder/Honeywell Falcon RVSM solution is developed as a group STC, eliminating the need for an STC flight test on each individual aircraft. It's a solution for Falcon operators that will save them downtime, as well as money," he said. Initially, Thunder will obtain certification for Falcon 20s with the APS 105 and SPZ 500 autopilots; Falcon 10 certification is to follow in March 2004. Upgrades for aircraft with different autopilots will be developed if demand warrants.
