Honeywell's APEX integrated cockpit will be the standard avionics
package in the new Grob G 160 Ranger single-engine turboprop business
aircraft that was revealed at the Paris Air Show this past summer.
Grob also selected Honeywell's all-electric Cabin Pressure Control
and Monitoring System for the airplane. The Ranger is the third
new aircraft model to offer the APEX cockpit as standard equipment,
and its system will feature digital comm and nav radios, a flight
management system, a digital autopilot, three displays, a Mode
S transponder, engine indicating and caution alert system and
Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System. Options include weather
radar, TCAS, a radio altimeter, DME, ADF and Honeywell's Flight
Information System. APEX Product Line Manager Roger Dykmann describes
the system as "extremely intuitive," and a "significant
improvement in the pilot's situational awareness." Visit
