BizJet Goes the Extra Mile

BizJet International (Booth 2141), a Tulsa, Okla.-based aviation services provider specializing in engine repair, avionics installation, interior and exterior refurbishment and airframe maintenance, has begun rewarding customers with frequent flier miles.

The company's Miles & More program will award one mile for every $5 spent on BizJet services. Miles are valid toward flights on Lufthansa Airlines of Germany and its Star Alliance Partners such as United Airlines. BizJet is a division of Lufthansa Technik.

Among the projects in development is an RVSM solution for Learjet 20 operators. According to Jace Stone, vp of sales, marketing and business development, the initial proof of concept flight with a Learjet 25 was completed in August, with certification expected for early in 2003.

BizJet recently acquired Standard AERO's TFE731 program assets, "to help us meet the increasing demand of our TFE services," Stone said. The purchase includes a "sizeable" parts inventory.

The company also reports brisk demand for its state-of-the-art paint facilities.

Aircraft ranging in size from a Learjet 25 to a Boeing 727-200 have been painted there at an average rate of about four aircraft per month-including 14 Boeing Business Jets in the past 18 months.
