New DUP Home for T-Bird

T-Bird Aviation, DuPage Airport (DUP), Chicago, announced that its new facility should be completed ahead of schedule and ready for operational use by January 2003.

Started in July of this year, the new complex will include 48,000 square feet of hangar space and 6,500+ square feet of office space, bringing all of T-Bird's staff and aircraft under one roof.

"This new facility, combined with our staff and infrastructure additions, will allow T-Bird to challenge the existing operators at Palwaukee [Airport], Aurora and Waukegan for market share in the Chicago arena," said Peter Messina, T-Bird CFO. "We plan on bringing new levels of service, while raising the bar of standards for charter in Chicago."

The new facility and passenger terminal is the latest of T-Bird's upgrades, which also include the implementation of new software, the addition of staff in sales, marketing and dispatch positions, and new aircraft-including a Gulfstream IV-SP and Citation Bravo.
