World Record Awards for Global Express

Two Bombardier Global Express (Booth 1079) crews are being honored by the NBAA and the National Aeronautic Association (NAA) for two world records established earlier this year. On April 22, Andrew Milewski, Yves Tessier and Durwood Heinrich flew a Global Express from McKinney Airport, Dallas, to Tokyo's Narita Airport-a distance of 6,418 statue miles-at a speed of 466.75 mph. Four days later they averaged an even faster speed of 568.67 mph for the return route.

Milewski and Tessier are Bombardier pilots, and Heinrich flies for Texas Instruments (a Global Express customer). The aircraft-Bombardier's demonstration jet-is on show in the NBAA static display (site 23). The two flights established world records for speed over a recognized course. Tuesday's special presentation of certificates to Andrew Milewski and Durwood Heinrich was made by NAA president Don Koranda and the NAA's director of contest and records, Art Greenfield.
