Eurocopter Interior Is Oh-So-Quiet

Make that Iso-Quiet. In association with Heritage Aviation, Eurocopter introduced the new Advanced Iso-Quiet Cocoon Interior for EC155 helicopters, a soundproofing package it promises will become "the standard against which all helicopter VIP interiors will be measured."

The Heritage system combines traditional soundproofing techniques with composite wall panels in which acoustical barriers were imbedded during the manufacturing process.

A variety of quick-change seating options are available with the new system-ranging from a four-passenger VIP configuration to high-density seating for 10. Specific seating choices include forward or aft-facing captain chairs, three- and four-place couches, and two-place flex seats. Cabin and refreshment centers are also available as options.

Additional features include: electrically actuated divider between cabin and cockpit to enhance privacy, a choice of MSA Accordia Window shades or tinted dual pane windows, and touch-pad control of cabin lighting, entertainment systems and other passenger-controlled components.
First delivery is expected in December of this year, with a kit form coming to market for installation early next year.

A mockup of the interior is on display at Eurocopter Booth 3215 on the convention floor.
